2021 AI-Star International Startup Acceleration Program Application Guidelines

Program Overview and Coaching Phases Introduction

Coaching team: Organized by the Taipei Computer Association, forming an international AI startup ecosystem link with the elite coaching team in partnership with ChungHwa Telecom Co., Ltd., its overseas subsidiaries, and AWS among others, offering diverse training programs and incentive resources. The program aims at technically empowering the startups to develop products, services, mechanisms, and business models that meet market demands, seeking international business opportunities.

Coaching period: June 2021 to October 2021, approximately 5 months.

Application Method

Training Content

The project has planned three types of training resources, including professional training courses, introduction to AWS international exchange events, and linking with ChungHwa Telecom's global Smart Solutions supply ecosystem. Overview as follows:

1. Training resource [One]: Conduct professional training courses to enhance enterprise operational capacity!

(i) One-on-one consulting: Guided by ChungHwa Telecom technical consultants certified by AWS to solve corporate challenges.

(ii) Basic cloud infrastructure to advanced training sessions including three sessions such as AWS business applications and core services, AWS cloud architecture planning, and data analysis and machine learning.

(iii) Assist selected enterprises in applying for AWS Partner Network (APN), enabling them to expand new business ventures and enter the global market. Training provided for selected enterprises on applying and setting up on AWS Marketplace, aiming to let their software products enter the international market.

2. Training resource [Two]: Introduction to 'AWS International Exchange Events', promote your own services or products! According to the regulations and review standards of ChungHwa Telecom, assist selected enterprises to participate in setting up booths at events like AWS Summit Taipei, AWS Startup Day.

3. Training resource [Three]: Linking with ChungHwa Telecom overseas subsidiaries, aiming to become a supplier for the ChungHwa Telecom global Smart Solution Team!

(i) Event Overview: According to the smart solution needs of the overseas market, ChungHwa Telecom evaluates the products and services of selected cooperative teams. Teams passing the qualification review will have the opportunity to become suppliers for the 'CHT Global Smart Solution Ecosystem', develop overseas markets together with ChungHwa Telecom, and enjoy local resources of ChungHwa Telecom's overseas subsidiaries, participate in overseas related exhibition activities and global exposure opportunities!

(ii) Qualification review and signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU): By ChungHwa Telecom's selection team based on the needs of the overseas market subsidiaries (including the USA, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and other economies), evaluate the product strengths and existing marketing strategies of the applicant teams, selecting teams with cooperation potential to sign a memorandum of understanding. Subsequent opportunities include:

1. Business model diagnostics and optimization: Provided by ChungHwa Telecom's consultant team, offering guidance and advisory on optimization and adjustment planning suggestions for cooperative teams’ business models, products, and marketing strategies.

2. International expansion: Cooperative team's innovative products will be incorporated into ChungHwa Telecom’s global smart solution, jointly sold and developed in overseas markets by ChungHwa Telecom.

3. Participation in overseas exhibitions: Cooperative teams will have the opportunity to participate in related exhibitions conducted by ChungHwa Telecom overseas.

4. Global exposure opportunities: Cooperative teams will have the chance to gain international exposure, such as through press releases.

5. Use of overseas resources: Cooperative teams can utilize local resources of ChungHwa Telecom's overseas subsidiaries, such as temporary overseas offices assisting with and sharing overseas business opportunities.
